The short version
- Refynd stores the links and details of videos you choose to save so you can find them again.
- We don't sell your data, and we don't share your library with advertisers.
- Personalised offers on the free plan are off until you turn them on, and never use sensitive topics.
- You can delete your account and data from inside the app at any time.
What we collect

We do not collect your contacts, location, photos, or anything from the social apps beyond the link you share.
How we understand your videos
When you save a video, we fetch its public page details and thumbnail and send the title, caption and thumbnail to our AI provider (Anthropic) to describe what the video is about. Your personal notes are never sent to Anthropic. To make search work by meaning, a small search model then indexes the description, tags and your notes; it runs inside our own backend (Supabase), so that text is not sent to any other company. Anthropic processes data on our behalf and may not use it to train its models.
Personalised offers (free plan only)
If you opt in, we build an interest profile from the topics of your saved videos and when you use the app, and use it to show offers from our partners inside Refynd. Partners never receive your identity, email or library; we choose what to show on our own systems. Sensitive categories, including health, finances, religion, politics, sexuality and anything aimed at children, are never used. You can turn this off in Settings at any time, and your interest profile is then deleted. Refynd Unlimited subscribers never see offers.
Launch list
If you join the launch list, we email you a link to confirm. Unconfirmed addresses are deleted after 7 days. Confirmed addresses are used once, to tell you Refynd is available, and are then deleted. Every email has a link that removes your address immediately. We send these emails through Resend.
Website statistics
refynd.digital uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies, without storing anything on your device and without tracking you across other sites. We don't use advertising or tracking scripts on the website.
Who we share with
Only service providers that run Refynd for us: Supabase (database, storage and sign-in, hosted in Sydney, Australia), Anthropic (understanding videos), Resend (email delivery), Cloudflare (website hosting and statistics), and Apple (subscriptions). We disclose information if the law requires it. We never sell personal information.
Where your data is kept
Your library is stored in Australia. Anthropic may process data in the United States. We use contractual safeguards for these transfers.
How long we keep it
- Your library: until you delete items or your account.
- Saves on a device that never signs in: deleted after 30 days of inactivity.
- Activity used for offers: 12 months, or until you opt out.
- Security and admin audit logs: 2 years.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Every account can only read its own library, enforced in the database itself. Staff access is limited to a small number of administrators who must use a password and an authenticator app, and every administrative action, including any view of a user's library, is recorded with a reason.
Your rights
You can access, correct, export or delete your information, and object to personalised offers. Delete your account in the app, or email privacy@refynd.digital for anything else. Depending on where you live (for example New Zealand, Australia, the UK, the EU or California), you may also complain to your local privacy regulator.
Children
Refynd is not intended for children under 13 and we don't knowingly collect their information.
Changes
If we make a material change, we will tell you in the app before it takes effect.
